Subclass visa 485 is for international graduate students with skills/qualifications relevant to specific occupations that are considered to be essential. The visa allows students to live, study and work in Australia after graduation. The primary condition is that the student must complete either a degree program, diploma, or a trade qualification accredited to an Australian training institution.
Some of the conditions are as follows;
- The studies must be completed within two academic years of active study.
- The course instruction must be conducted in English.
- The candidate would have been a holder of a visa that authorises studies.
- The course must be registered in line with the Australian standards for training institutions and skills assessment.
- The course completion must be within a minimum of 16 months
